Whoever
thought we could do it again...but we did! On Sunday, June
18, 2006, a check for $5,000.00 was presented to Rev. Larry
Knotts and Marsha Tallant, Senior Warden. Due to our successful
fundraising this past year with salad bars, frozen pie sales,
and other events, this is the second year that the ECW has
accomplished its goal. Thank you, everyone, for making this
gift possible.

Who
is ECW?
The Episcopal Church Women (ECW) is a fellowship and service organization
of the women of the Episcopal denomination. Over the recent years
at Christ Church, it has evolved to include all members of the church
- both women and men.
A
new season is upon us. Our goals are to continue to work together
as a church family, to strive to 'raise the bar' for the several
local charities we support, and most importantly, to increase our
contribution to our very own special house of worship, Christ Episcopal
Church.
It
is the congregation's extraordinary kindness, helpfulness
and fellowship that inspires us to "keep on keeping on."
We appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing
good times at our many events.

Current
Fundraisers
As
well as our popular Salad Bars
we will be sponsoring the following fundraisers:
Recycling
of Aluminum Cans
Now
that the busy summer months are over, we need to focus on our latest
fundraiser, the recycling of aluminum cans. Specially marked containers
for aluminum cans ONLY are located in the undercroft, church office,
and the DRR. Donations of cans from home are welcome, but please
empty them in the containers.
Cookbooks
Finally...they
have arrived! The book everyone has been waiting for! Make your
gift list now! The price is $8.00 and will probably be the best
one ever. Copies will be sold after both services. Watch the church
newsletter for the "big news!"
Funeral
Luncheons
These
luncheons are a ministry provided by the ECW to provide help and
comfort to parishioners after the death of a loved one. We are grateful
to the many people who respond so willingly when they get that last-minute
call to make food. The families are always impressed with the generosity
and caring from the people of Christ Church.

- Soup Fest - Twice a year in the Fall & Spring
Calling all men and women for their favorite soup recipes. We can never have too much soup! Donations of pint and quart jars are still welcome.
 Frozen Fruit Pie Sale - November,
March & June
Make
your holiday meals easy and special by baking "church pies"
for dessert. Maybe impress your mother-in-law, too! Plan for that holiday and the months ahead! (NOTE: Cream pies are sold once a year in June.)

Yes,
we know it's Valentine's Day, but what better place to be for
a delicious dinner with your sweetheart or special person!
